The dancers must be registered in a minimum of two full-year Ballet, Jazz or Modern classes or four hours of class per week. Regular attendance in registered classes is critical and provides the foundational skills, stamina and strength necessary to achieve success in the DOS programs. Class attendance is important and will be monitored. More than a total of 5 missed classes as a part of your weekly schedule may lead to dismissal from the DOS program. Missed classes can lead to gaps in training and the safety and well-being of our dancers is our top priority. DOS rehearsals are like game day in sports; you must practice during the week to play the game. Show Day requires this preparation throughout the season.
-
Throughout the second half of the DOS season, dancers will also have the opportunity to participate in master classes with professional dance and theatre artists. These opportunities give students the chance to expand, grow, and learn with content not typically covered during regular classes. Dancers will also be able to connect with the local professional dance community through organized show viewings and outings.
-
It is each family’s responsibility to stay up-to-date and informed. A schedule for the coming week will be posted on Google Classroom. ALL parent communication must go directly through the Artistic Director and DOS Administrator using the email: danceopportunitiessociety@gmail.com
